Tim McBratney Named 2018 Tigard Chamber Volunteer of the Year

Tim McBratney, a Sr. Mortgage Banker with Pacific Residential Mortgage, has been named the 2018 Tigard Shining Stars Chamber Volunteer of the Year.  This award honors a Chamber member who has volunteered many hours of time, talent and energy to the success and growth of the Tigard Chamber.  Bert Tousey and his example of Chamber volunteerism is commitment at its best.  This person is an example of an active member who has sustained their efforts on behalf of the Chamber over a long period of time.  By their efforts, they have made this organization more effective in serving the Tigard community.As a member of the Tigard Chamber for almost 10 years, Tim has made his presence felt in a variety of volunteer roles over the last 7 years. Tim has been a constant presence of support in the chamber for both other members as well as staff.  The following are a list of his contributions:
Board member of the Tigard Chamber for almost 7 years, currently serving as Chair of the Board of Directors
Tim has moved through different roles on the board, beginning as a Director, moving to Vice Chair, then Chair Elect, and now Chair.
The board meets every other month for two hours. Throughout his board tenure Tim has been insightful and has offered impactful and strategic input.

Member of a 3 person Tigard Chamber Finance Committee for over 5 years
Tim meets monthly with the Tigard Chamber CEO and the Finance Chair regarding Tigard Chamber financial performance to budget.  This is a critical oversight role.

Member of 4 person 2017/2018 Building Task Force
In this role Tim served as a sounding board for the Tigard Chamber CEO, worked collaboratively with other task force members to evaluate options for chamber and tenant expansion, sought out market data and helped evaluate a lease amendment.

Advocate for the Tigard Chamber, its benefits and its members
This is evidenced by Tim’s numerous shout outs for other members as well as his outreach to newer members particularly in his time as Chair of the Board.
Additionally, Tim has made himself available for Board training and participates in some of our Gov’t Affairs meetings.

Supportive of Chamber Staff
Tim has made himself available to the Chamber CEO beyond the above, providing support on critical issues where other input is needed.
Tim has spent time getting to know other Tigard Chamber staff on a personal level and stays connected at a high level with what is going on in the Chamber from the staff perspective.
