Tigard Chamber to Host Candidate Forum for Tigard City Council Candidates 10/15/14

The Tigard Chamber and its Government Affairs and Public Policy committee will be hosting a moderated forum for Tigard City Council candidates, focused on Tigard area business, economic growth and transportation challenges and opportunities on Wednesday, October 15th from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Broadway Rose Theatre, doors will open at 6:30 p.m.
The forum will consist of four candidates running for two Tigard City Council Seats:
Tom Anderson – Broker with New Home Reality in Lake Oswego. Tom served on the Tigard Planning Commission for seven years. 
John Goodhouse – Independent Insurance Agent, current Tigard Chamber member, alternate member of Tigard Planning Committee
Carl Switzer** – Previous manager of Tualatin Parks Dept, current parks manager for the North Clackamas Parks and Rec District.   Carl has been on several committees for City of Tigard including the City Center Advisory Committee
Marc Woodard – Current sitting council member
The discussion will be moderated by Dan Murphy, General Manager of the Broadway Rose Theatre.  Candidates will have an opportunity for opening comments and then will respond to questions generated by the local Tigard business community as asked by the moderator.  There will be an opportunity for attendees to submit questions for consideration.  Candidates will then have an opportunity for closing comments.
In advance of this forum, candidates will be asked to submit responses to a series of business and economy focused questions which will be posted on the Tigard Chamber website and publicly available.
The Tigard Chamber invites any business or community member to attend this event and hear the candidate’s views on how they will address these issues/opportunities in Tigard.   The Broadway Rose Theatre is located at 12850 SW Grant Ave., Tigard, OR  97223.
