Tigard Chamber of Commerce Endorses Governor Candidate for November 2022 General Election
(Tigard, Oregon) – The Candidate Endorsement Committee (CEC) of the Tigard Chamber of Commerce, launched earlier this month, has determined its list of endorsements for the upcoming Governor race in the 2022 General Election.
The Committee consisting of local business owners, community leaders, and members of the Chamber Board of Directors came together to go through a non-partisan process to consider candidates for endorsement who align with the Chambers’ core values and mission, legislative agenda and who support public policy that strengthens the business community and free enterprise system. The Candidate Endorsement Committee reached out to all three Gubernatorial Candidates and interviewed Betsy Johnson and Christine Drazan.
“This year’s election is one of the most pivotal elections in Oregon in quite a while and could be the most transformational election we have seen in years” said Barbara J. Burkart, CEO of the Tigard Chamber. “Each year we convene as a committee to make the tough choices on who we feel best represents the needs of both businesses and community members to foster a strong and vibrant local economy in and around Tigard. This year we are excited to take our endorsements a step further to the Governor’s race. Please join us in the support of these outstanding candidates,” said Megan De Salvo, Candidate Endorsement Committee Chair. The Candidate Endorsement Committee for the Tigard Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce their endorsement of Betsy Johnson for Governor of the State of Oregon for the General Election held Nov. 8, 2022.

“Betsy’s independent approach narrowing partisan agendas and extremes is what Oregon and the business community need. Her no nonsense approach with emphasis on bipartisan support for legislation, budgets, and appointments is what we believe will get things done for the benefit of all Oregonians. The State of Oregon needs strong leadership that can get all parties to work together to ensure Oregon remains a place we can be proud to grow our businesses, our families, and our communities in. Senator Betsy Johnson is the best candidate for this job. It will not be an easy task, and we know Betsy won’t back down from any tough decisions Oregon faces in the years to come. Please join us in supporting Betsy Johnson for Governor of Oregon. Run Betsy Run!” said Megan De Salvo, Chair of the Candidate Endorsement Committee.
