Within the district are 2 high schools, 3 middle schools, 10 elementary schools, 1 alternative/online school and 2 preschools. Student population numbers over 12,000 and staff is 1,100.

Downtown Tigard offers a good cross section of food including Chinese, Mexican, Japanese, Thai, pub food and more. Tigards only and newly opened whiskey library is in downtown at Symposium Coffee and local tap houses and brewpubs offer both food and many libations.

These include Summerfield Retirement Estates, King City Senior Village, Bonaventure Tigard, Royal Villas and King City. Incorporated King City is a community of more than 2,000 residents that includes its own nine- hole golf course, town hall, shopping center, convalescent center and lawn bowling rink. King City has expanded in recent years to include residential areas for all ages.
